This business started out as an ordinary
gunsmith shop, part time in 1962, as friends saw the work I was
doing on my own guns. I have been smithing professionally
ever since. My kids started shooting in 1972, and my interest in
smallbore equipment grew with them. Providing for four shooters
in one family has led to the development of several products and
shop procedures that are now available to you, our customers. Of
course, your requests for solutions to new problems keep me developing
new ideas which benefit us all.
Almost anything is possible if given
enough time, but that is the biggest problem. My shop handles strictly
target equipment. Even then, I have had to determine priorities
because of the workload. My first priority is always repairs necessary
to return equipment to service. Remember, some parts are hard to
get, especially for out of production guns, and that can tie a gun
up for a very long time no matter what priority I may want to set.
Custom work is next. Jobs like glass bedding that won't tie a gun
up long can usually be done immediately. Rebarreling takes longer,
and something like a custom stock can take several months or more.
I assign refinishing the lowest priority, as that has little bearing
on the performance of the equipment, although pride in equipment
makes us all perform a little better.
I will try to work with you in scheduling
your gun work. If you let me know your competition and training schedule,
I will cooperate to get the job done as best I can.
